This November, amidst the rich autumn atmosphere of Beijing, the tNavigator Annual Technology Summit 2025 was successfully held. The event was hosted by Colchis PetroConsulting and RFD, and co-organized by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and Kunlun Digital Technology. The summit brought together experts, scholars, and technical leaders from China and abroad to explore the latest technological trends and innovative applications in an energy industry transformed by AI.

AI Innovation Takes Center Stage

RFD’s CTO Kirill presented the latest progress of the tNavigator AI Assistant, demonstrating how engineers can now interact with the software through text or voice to automate workflow creation and streamline post-processing—greatly enhancing efficiency and expanding creative modeling possibilities.

Keynote Speeches & Technical Highlights

Colchis Chairman Mr. Geping Wang emphasized in his opening remarks that AI and digital technologies are rapidly reshaping the energy sector, and that tNavigator—powered by GPU acceleration and integrated modeling—is driving global innovation.

RFD founder Vasilii then reviewed nearly two decades of tNavigator’s development and its worldwide user successes.

Experts from RFD and China shared cutting-edge insights covering AI-enabled modeling, surface–subsurface integrated simulation, advanced seismic interpretation, complex structural modeling, unconventional workflows, CBM, CCUS, and digital oilfield asset management. Case studies—including billion-cell simulations and integrated field-scale models—sparked strong interest among attendees.

Supporting Education: Academic License Donations

At the summit, Colchis announced the donation of tNavigator academic licenses—valued at approximately RMB 200 million per university—to nine leading petroleum and geoscience institutions in China. Recipient universities include Changzhou University, Northeast Petroleum University, CUG Beijing, Southwest Petroleum University, CUP Beijing, CUP East China, Yangtze University, Chongqing University of Science & Technology, and CUG Wuhan.

This donation marks a new milestone in industry–academia collaboration, supporting advanced research and talent development.

Looking Ahead

The summit concluded with enthusiastic applause. Beyond technical exchange, it served as an inspiring platform for shaping the future of high-efficiency reservoir exploration and development. Colchis will continue to collaborate closely with industry and academia to accelerate tNavigator’s innovation, delivering four major version updates each year and contributing to global energy progress.

We look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s summit!
