Colchis Petroconsulting has donated ColchisFM, its integrated reservoir geophysics forward modeling software, to Kazan Federal University (KFU) in Russia, supporting the university’s geophysics education and research activities.

Founded in 1804, Kazan Federal University is one of Russia’s oldest and most prestigious universities and the alma mater of Vladimir Lenin and Leo Tolstoy. The university plays an important role in geoscience and energy-related research in the Volga region and maintains close collaboration with industry and research institutions.

The donation provides KFU students and researchers with access to advanced forward modeling technology that links reservoir parameters with seismic responses, supporting applications in reservoir characterization, seismic response analysis, and integrated interpretation. ColchisFM has been applied by major national oil companies in China as well as international oil and gas operators, demonstrating its practicality in both academic and industry environments.

This initiative forms part of Colchis’ global academic engagement, building on partnerships with universities across the Middle East, Asia, and North America. It reflects the company’s long-term commitment to knowledge sharing, education, and the development of future geoscience professionals.
